In this modern age of science and technology when products like television, computer, music systems, air-conditioners, microwave, washing machines, etc., have become a part of our daily life, the importance of electricity has increased all the more; because without electricity all these products of technology are of no use. Electricity is essential for making the modern machines, equipments, and devices work, and electricity requires a medium through which it could work; wires and circuits are the important mediums through which electricity works.
Today, in the electrical industry, copper and aluminium are considered the most important metals for manufacturing wires and circuits. The use of both these metals in the electrical industry is briefly discussed below.
Copper
Copper is a reddish-orange metal that is widely used in the electrical domain. It is basically used for making electrical copper wires for various purposes like power transmission, home/office wiring, and wiring in electrical equipments and devices. The properties of copper that make it an ideal choice for making wires are that it is ductile, excellent conductor of electricity, possesses high temperature tolerance, and it is abrasion resistant. The popular varieties of copper wire include copper flat wire, tinned wire, braided wire, tinsel wire, and bare copper wire.
Aluminium
Aluminium is the next most used metal in the electrical industry after copper. This metal is generally used for making cables, rods, bars, grills, and casting rod tubes that are used for electrical purposes. Although aluminium has the electrical conductivity of only 63%, it is widely used for making high tension wires that cover long distances due to its light weight.
Rajasthan Electric Industries is an established copper wire manufacturer. Besides various varieties of copper wire, the company also deals in other products like aluminium wire, submersible winding wires, glass wires, and PVC wires.
