Tin Copper Wire Manufacturers Seeing Sunnier Times

Tin is one of the main-group elements, silvery in color, malleable and not easily oxidized in air.

In fact, tin combined with bronze was first used as an alloy on a large scale as far back as 3000 BC.

But today tin blended with copper is extensively used in the electrical and manufacturing industry for its myriad applications.

Tin copper wire is copper wire coated with a layer of electroplated tin.

The appeal of tin copper wire is chiefly because of its following features.

• Durability even in harsh conditions

• Anti corrosive properties

The above features have enabled tin copper wire manufacturers to manufacture an assortment of products for industrial segments such as power, electric power trains, trolleys and marine industry.

One of the key advantages of tin copper wire is it adheres well during a soldering process. This is unlike bare copper wires that do not stick together as well.
Tin copper wire   manufacturers offer their products either in insulated or un-insulated versions, also called “buss wires”.

It is true bare copper wire has a slight edge when it comes to electrical conductivity.

Copper has proved itself to be a wonderful material especially in the electrical field. Its excellent conductivity, durable tensile strength, and ease of machinability into wires have found many applications such as in automobile and electric cabling.

But technological advances have put forth many innovative alloying processes that offer benefits in terms of physical and chemical properties and cost effectiveness.
In case of copper, tin has proved itself to be a very appropriate element for alloying. As an electroplated layer over copper, it helps in protecting the copper underneath in harsh and humid climates. A bare copper wire on the other hand, loses performance in wet environments.

It is for this reason, tin copper wires even though more expensive than bare copper wires are better suited in the long haul. With the recent focus of power generation in India, Tin copper wire   manufacturers are likely to see a boost in demand for their products.
