Copper and its Usage in Data Transmission Mediums

Internet has become an indispensable part of people’s daily lives. It is being used for varied purposes such as banking, social networking, looking up for information on products and services and education.

One thing that is at the core of all this is data communication. Transmission of data through encoding and subsequent superimposition on electrical signals forms the foundation for the edifice of internet working. Different kinds of media are being used for data transmission ranging from Twisted Pair, Coaxial Cable, and Optical Fiber to wireless data transfer on electromagnetic waves. There are numerous copper wire manufacturers who manufacture and export top quality copper products like braided copper rope, special cables, twisted pair, etc.

Coaxial Cables are also special cables being used for Data Transmission. It has the core of a copper wire wrapped by an insulating wire and then again covered by a conducting shield. A Coaxial Cable may have braided copper shielding to ward off electromagnetic interference. Braided copper rope/ wire, as a product being sold by wire manufacturers, holds a lot of promise.

Twisted pair can be classified into Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) or Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP). UTP has copper wire pairs twisted to different degrees and bundled together in a way so as to reduce crosstalk. STP has just individual pairs shielded or a combination of shielding of individual pairs coupled with an overall shield over the bundled twisted copper wires.

With the technical arena getting more and more sophisticated the virtual world is growing at an unprecedented pace outdoing all the estimates being made about its growth.
