Application of Copper – Building Wire

Building wire is a special type of wiring which is primarily used to supply electricity inside residential building, office complexes, shopping malls, industrial establishments, plants, ships, mobile homes etc. The maximum voltage which can be distributed using building wire is around 600 Volts. As these special wires manage and optimize such high voltage, it becomes important to have a dependable and reliable material which can sustain such heat and pressure.

Copper Wire is the most favourite material which is used to manufacture building wire.

Some of the advantages of using copper for manufacturing building wire are:

-Copper is compatible with brass and quality plated screws
-Copper requires less insulation and the wires can be installed even with less conduit
-The connections created using copper never corrode or creep
-Copper can easily used for creating circuit breaker panels, branch circuit wiring and panels for serving dedicated heavy load appliances..

Although aluminium is a much cheaper compared with copper, it is not recommended in manufacturing building wire as the connection often loosens up and security is compromised. Hence, for manufacturing high feature and high usage building wire, it is always recommended to use copper as the base material.
