In this post, we shall discuss some common types of Copper Wires which are in usage today:
a)General Usage Copper Wire: General usage copper wires are heavily used in homes, offices and buildings. In fact, such wide spread of copper wires everywhere has prompted some electrical companies to proclaim “All Copper” buildings to help future electricians and mechanics. Our computers, gadgets and applications all have copper wire in them.
b)Automotive and Marine Wires: These are special copper wires, for specific purposes which are used in the automobile industry, marine and shipping industry, along with electronics and electrical industries. Some of the common types of these copper wires are:
1)GPT: This wire is used for circuit wiring
2)TWP: These are thinner and finer wires, primarily used for internal circuits and mission critical applications
3)HDT: These copper wires are more secured and safe.
4)SXL: These are again special copper wires, which are used in applications which require heat protection. Hence, these wires are resistant to extreme heat and pressure.
5)TXL: These copper wires resist corrosion and atmospheric pressure. Additionally, these wires are also light weight, enabling quicker installation and transfers.
