Types of Copper Wires

Copper Wire

There are different kinds of wires available in the market, but the one which beats them all in the market is none other than “Copper wire”. Copper, as a metal possess a number of unique features that makes it an important component of electrical appliances.

Copper wire” has been more reliable as compared to other wires in the market. Some of the varieties of copper wire available in the market are:

·         Tin Coated Copper Wire: Coating a copper wire with tin is an easy process. The reason for using  tin on copper wire is, that it protects copper from oxidation and also increases the life span of the product. Tin also helps in the soldering process. Tin Copper wire is basically used in high temperature instruments, industrial machinery and so on.

·         Braided Copper Wires: It is a braided form of copper wire. Many copper wires like Bare Copper, Silver plated and Tin plated are queued together for making them useful. It is mostly used in electric stove, storage battery and so on.

·         Tinsel Copper Wire: Tinsel Copper wire is a low voltage electrical wire. It is formed by covering the wire in a thin layer of copper foil. It is mostly used in telephones, headphones, clocks, electric shavers and so on.

·         Nickel Copper Wire: We get a Nickel copper wire when we wrap the copper wire with Nickel. Nickel is highly resistant to corrosion which is one of the reasons it is used on copper wire. Nickel Copper Wire is mainly used under water. It is used in the sea pipe lines due to its properties.
