What Are The Uses Of Copper Wire At Home?

Copper wire is one of the most commonly used materials in the home. Usually copper metal is not visible because it is packed under PVC coating wire to protect against short circuits. Copper is a good conductor of heat hence it is widely used in the base of cooking utensils. Moreover, copper is used in the making of cutlery and bottles because of its aesthetic, affordable and appealing nature.

Uses of copper wire at home

Copper wires are easy to install, ductile, and durable thus widely preferred for household uses. Without the use of copper wires, most electrical appliances and works cannot be done. High conductive properties, resistance due to corrosion, and tensile strength make it durable. Copper can be easily found in everyday items like cutlery, cooking utensils, bottles, household wiring, telephone cables, etc.

Power distribution at home

Since copper is a good conductor of electricity hence it is preferred for electrical wiring. Copper is not too heavy or takes a lot of space, it reduces power loss and withstands high temperatures.

Air conditioners (AC)

Copper is a good conductor of heat thus it acts as a good heat exchanger. It does not require frequent replacements and lasts longer compared to other materials. Usually, it is used in the form of a coil inside the air conditioner.

Kitchen appliances

Most kitchen appliances contain copper wire, sometimes it is visible and sometimes it is not. In the kitchen the mixer grinder has solid copper wire, the kettle includes copper wire, and the heater contains copper wire.

Other uses

The use of copper wire is not restricted to kitchens or households, it is also used in several other places because of its versatile nature and appealing look. Jewellery, cooking utensils can also be made from copper. Moreover, copper bottles are also preferred for storing water because of their ayurvedic properties.

Why copper wire?

Copper wires are used for household purposes because of the following reasons:

Cost-effective

Copper is an affordable metal thus copper wire is one of the most popular choices for most electrical-related tasks. It is a suitable choice for product manufacturers and customers because of its energy-efficient property.

Bears high temperature

Copper wire can easily pass current from one place to another and survive large temperature variations. The chemical properties of copper wire allow it to withstand high temperatures without melting.

Good conductor of electricity

A big reason why copper wire is preferred for household purposes is that it is a good conductor of electricity. The metallic property of copper allows the wire to conduct more electric current per diameter of copper wire.

Conclusion

Copper is a versatile metal that has an appealing look, improved conductivity, and low price. All these qualities make copper an ideal choice to be used in households, kitchens, jewellery, etc.
